Dowsing Or Witching

Dowsing is something I enjoy doing. Being on the farm and working with the rods to find electrical wires underground or following an underground spring, amazing.

The first time I was introduced to dowsing was through my husband. My husband comes from a family of "Witchers", in fact. And I assumed that everyone could "Witch" the truth is, they cannot. My husband's grandfather was able to dowse and owned his own pair of copper rods. Those copper rods were then handed down to his son, my husband's father, and then given to my husband, who in turn gifted them to me. Now, I was able to use them and had some crazy experiences with the copper rods. My husband can also work with them, and his grandfather could; however, his father was unable to work with them, or they chose not to work with him.

I have been able to, so far, locate water sources, underground springs, and locate power lines that are buried. One time, when I worked with the rods that caused my entire body to vibrate and my arms to shake almost violently everywhere. I had to anchor the copper rods on the ground to stop the energy that was flowing. It was a very intense experience.

When I first began to work with the rods, I remember being reduced to excited giggles because I was fully aware that there was a presence and it was guiding me. This presence I do think is the Aethyr (Ether). It was indeed wild and amazing.

When I started to work with Reiki, I was taught how to use and charge the crystals along with pendulums. Pendulum work is another form of dowsing. It too is amazing and both forms of dowsing still give me the giggles. I am still, to this day, amazed.

PS... When working with the Pendulums or the Copper Rods, I personally prefer to pray before using them, calling forth protection and guidance from those I trust and already honour with praise. I am not sure what that may look like for you; however, I think it is wise to protect yourself when you are in such a spiritually open state like you will be when dowsing. Divination also requires the same effort, in my opinion.
